Happy spring folks! It’s here, it’s in the air and boy I am revved up and ready to go! After a long new-mommy hiatus from cooking, I’m more than happy to be back in the kitchen. There is no substitute for good old-fashioned home cooking and with Easter here, there’s no better time for some new inspirations. I went cookbook crazy again so here are my latest recommendations:
Dessert first! Too much of a good thing could be great especially with some new scrumptious desserts from Miette in your repertoire! Miette is a beloved bakery from the San Fransisco area. It’s extensive enough that it covers the classics but also offers up some lovely new ideas!
The Beekman Boys put together a fabulous collection of all-American recipes with an elevated simplicity. Paulette Tavormina also collaborated on this project and features her sumptuous photography!
This cookbook is plenty good in every way and is one of the best cookbooks I’ve come across in many years. The recipes are complex in flavor yet very approachable and perfect for a refreshing new spring or year round menu! Ottolenghi is known for his eponymous restaurant and gourmet take-away shops in London. He’s also a regular food columnist at The Guardian. You’ll need a well-stocked pantry for this one though.
This cookbook isn’t as new as the first three but was one on my wishlist. It’s filled with all the perennial favorites but taken up a notch. Thomas Keller is famous for his restaurants such as The French Laundry, Per Se and Bouchon for which he also has the accompanying cookbooks. Now, it’s time to get cooking! Have a wonderful weekend folks!

I have also been taken by the baking frenzy but it is still challenging with Liam who’s a little whingebag!
It will get easier Gloria! Perhaps one day he’ll be baking along side you…
